96 club car ds, bad vglide.
I have a 96 club car ds, 36 volt. The vglide is shot. I need to get this cart back out for use, i have an mcor conversion kit, can a cart with a coil resistor, in stead of controller be converted to an mcor?

Re: 96 club car ds, bad vglide.
You cant simply replace the v-glide with a MCOR4 no.
In a resistor cart, all the current passes through the v-glide. The MCOR is a variable resistor (potentiometer) that senses pedal position. That signal is sent to the controller, which is sent to the motor. None of the current passes through the MCOR like it does on the v-glide, the controller handles all of that. The conversion is very possible and depending on your personal mechanical.aptitude, not overly difficult. But you'll need to basically gut the electrical components and replace with MCOR4, controller, and the other stuff necessary to convert it to a solid state system instead of the toaster coils. Contact scottyb I think I remember seeing a kit on his site to convert to solid state system. A bit pricey but more reliable and better performance long term. And not that much more expensive than a new v-glide thise stupid things are a few hundred bucks alone |
