Default 1995 club car ds needs half pedal to go, plus slow

Hello everyone. I have a club car ds from 1995. When i first push the accelerator it clicks after only pushing it a little down but the cart does not go until about half pedal. It also seems slow top speed. How can I diagnose it? Thanks!

I suspect the problem is in your throttle cable adjustment. Remove the guard over the carb throttle linkage (10mm & T15) and see when it actually starts to move the throttle plate. I'm guessing you'll find the cable is set pretty loose. You want the cable to start pulling the carb throat open just after the microswitches in the control box "click" (engage solenoid / starter generator and allow spark).

Oops should have said it is electric, not gas.
Also i think it is a 1996 not a 95. Serial starts with A9630 so i think that is 1996.

Thanks for your help!

OK. When you do please tell us the first letter and 4 numbers in the serial number. And, a photo under the seat is always good too.

MY fault, I didn't pay close enough attention to the category. Sorry to have thrown unnecessary confusion into the works.
