After those initial beeps (to tell you what speed mode it's currently in). You would drive it, and it will beep "error codes" to tell you what it thinks wrong. The codes might start as soon as you start driving.

SO the speed mode gave 4 beeps. Once I put it in forward and touched the pedal it gave a 3-2 beep code. Does that help? The solenoid is brand new, I am not sure what Auxiliary power is that I should be checking?

Bumping for help. I assume bumping is allowed?

I put in a new ignition switch, battery meter, and forward/reverse selector switch. The connections were so corroded they were falling off. I have replaced the connectors and I also will be using a spray cleaner for electrical connectors tomorrow on the plugs which go into the controller. Just an update. Still have slow motion in forward though. I do not see how the solenoid could be welded already.

Depending on the technical definition of welded solenoid.... it doesn’t sound like a welded solenoid to me

Usually it's the speed sensor that causes creep mode in a PDS, or a cracked speed sensor magnet.

Those 'beep codes' on PDS 36V controllers are not very accurate IMO. I've seen one report 'low battery voltage' beeps when it was a faulty solenoid (caused less voltage to enter controller due to internal arcing inside solenoid)

I am going to replace the speed sensor. This thing has apparently been underwater.

Auxiliary Power is J1 Pin-5, which is connected directly to the main positive terminal off the battery pack 100% of the time, via the smaller red wire that is connected to the solenoid's battery side large terminal. That wire also feeds B+ to the beeper and there is a split inside the wiring harness to send B+ to two separate destinations.

The splint is accomplished by something called a "Sonic Weld" and unfortunately J1 Pin-5 is fed by the iffy connection rather than the through wire.

After entering the controller at J1 Pin-5, the B+ goes out to the Run/Tow switch via J3 Pin-1 and back in on J3 Pin-2.

Check for full battery pack voltage at J1 Pin5, J3 Pin-1 and J3 Pin-2
----------
EZGO labeled the 3-2 error code as "Welded Solenoid", but all the computer in the PDS controller knows is the the voltage between the controller's B- and B+ terminals doesn't increase when solenoid contacts close and there are several possible reasons for that to happen.

-----------
The trick to using the error codes is to figure out what conditions trigger the error rather than getting bogged down on what EZGO labeled them. IE: The low battery error being a bad solenoid. There was a voltage drop across the solenoid contacts, so full battery pack voltage was not being applied between the controller's B- and B+ terminals and the voltage applied was below the low battery trip point, so the low battery error flag was set.

Thanks Johnnie! I will get the voltmeter out and give it the old college try. Will report back. I am still replacing connectors and switches due to corrosion. I will reply back with pics later to show you guys how bad it is...

I changed all the switches and put new connectors on. No more limp mode. Must have been the terrible forward and reverse switch. All were so corroded some terminals broke off.
