Jerry.. funny thing. I had to replace a 1206ac controller this morning. Took a rebuilt FSIP controller, installed it and right off the gitgo, it was throwing stall/encoder fault. Tried another rebuilt and it worked fine. So maybe your rebuilt still has an issue. If you have a known good controller you may want to swap it and see if the error goes away.

Are your bad rebuilds coming from FSIP by chance? Their QC has dropped considerably lately. We are getting ratios of 3 bad controllers from them for every good one from them.

Yes, we use FSIP and I have noticed that as well.

Its killing me slowly but surely haha
I do not have a oscilloscope but I will be looking into one tomorrow. I greatly appreciate all the advice .I have removed the rear body and checked every inch of the harness for damage and also checked for backed out terminals and no issue with either. I have pulled the controller out and going to send it back to fsip and see what they say .I will post there response and keep all you great folks updated and hopefully have this thing figured out soon!!!

Amazon sells 1-channel 'Scopes for $49. They do enough to diagnose the encoder bearing on older RXVs and on the newer ones.

Best "2 thumbs up" I have ever given. I use the cheapest 'scope you can get for that job, and the cheapest one works fine. I use a $18 one that you solder together yourself (but I admit soldering is fun to me). I like the cheapest one because it works for the job, can run on a 9v battery, and best, if it falls off & gets run-over your out very little, low risk. (Me & my daughter would have to make another, awe shucks). Hasnt been run-over yet tho.

I bet she wants it to get run over, she wants to solder stuff anyway.

Got a link for that? I can always use a cheap scope! Actually it would probably only get used once or twice a year, and I never wanted to pay hundreds for a "nice" scope so it could sit around in my tool box.

Unassembled DIY kit I use.

Or, this little one already ready to use for only a few bucks more.

They do ship from china, so dont expect it in 2 days.

You could use this info to look for them at closer locations.

I dont remember the wire colors off-hand but, 2 of the encoder wires would be B- & 5v B+, the other 2 would be 2 separate pulse signals. (Yes, its actually 2 sensors in one, slightly offset so the controller can tell motor rotation direction). You would want to use the B-, and check each pulse separately. I'll look at controller pinout & update with wire colors.

Update: Orange is 5v, black is B-, white & blue/white are pulses.
