Charger replacement
A neighbor has a '09 Yamaha with apparent bad charger, yamaha W2-H2107-03.
Will it work to put her chord on a Lester Model 17930?? A friend has offered the charger. I am hesitant and will not do so unless on of the experts on here says "YES" |

Re: Charger replacement
Absolutely will NOT work. Sorry. That lester requires the clubcar onboard charge computer that you dont have. Without it, the charger is just a "dumb power supply" & wont even turn on.

Re: Charger replacement
Thanks,
that is what I figured, but the guy wanted to try it. I will check input & output cables on her charger but I imagine she will have to get a replacement charger. |

Re: Charger replacement
As stated that is a dumb charger needing a specific cart with computer charge control.
A smart charger is needed with it's own control board. There may be a control board conversion available but, I will leave it to the experts to determine if that is applicable for this unit |

Re: Charger replacement
Yeah, Scotty, that is what I had remembered from previous inquiries on this type of charger. Another person had offered a charger he had because it was a 3 prong plug. I knew better but he kept insisting so I said I would inquire of the experts. I had remembered reading that the original for this Yamaha was pretty much considered a bad idea and usually not repairable.
Next is to find a replacement that the lady can afford. |

Re: Charger replacement
CGTECH, or others, what would be a good economical replacement for this charger?
Suggestions appreciated. Ard |
