Default Solenoid double clicks in reverse

I’m new to the forum, I’m going through a 05’ club car Precedent with 4 - 12v batteries. I noticed the green A1 wire on the motor was burned and when I grabbed it the wire came out of the crimp and briefly touched the F1. I’ve checked all of the connections and nothing is damaged but when switching it into reverse - the buzzer signals as it should, when I depress the pedal the solenoid clicks then clicks off. No reverse, but works properly going forward. What did I burn up?

Indeed. If it helps, look at it as a reason to upgrade. The Alltrax XCT 300 amp controller is a simple install and will give you a nice boost in performance over stock without breaking the bank. None of the other components on the cart need to be upgraded to use it. The Alltrax has polarity protection, so if this ever happened again in the future, you wouldn't be buying another new controller.

Thank you very much for your help. I’ve been refurbishing carts for years now and have never done this, and I’m not happy with myself. You’ve saved me allot of time. Cannot believe a haven’t joined this forum sooner [emoji1303]

In the end you’ll be glad you upgraded, to any of Alltrax controllers. They are much better than the stock controllers, and you can program them yourself.

They are also just starting to roll out a Bluetooth device so you can program it from your phone.

Follow up. Replaced with Alltrax controller. Great decision. Was able to pick up used one ( a take out of a wrecked cart ). Works perfect. I absolutely agree with the suggestion
