RXV Stopped Working
I’ve searched the forums with hopes of finding help but can’t seem to nail this one.
2013 RXV 4 battery 48V Charged and driven once (45 mins) around the neighborhood since storing for winter. Out on 2nd ride in the neighborhood, pedal down and the cart simply coasted to a stop. - turned key off, then back on - solenoid clicked - pressed gas, went about a foot, stopped - turned off key - turned key to reverse, buzz cane on, went about a foot, stopped - was able to repeat this pattern a few times - next when turning on key, sometimes battery gauge moves, sometimes nothing - turned key on, battery gauge moved like normal, flipped switch to tow, would not move - eventually got it to roll and pushed it home - removed all cables one by one and cleaned them and terminals - plugged POS Q/E in and started green but then double red volt fault - checked voltage, reads 47.4V Help? |

Re: RXV Stopped Working
Turned on key, power came on, voltmeter showed 47.8. Pushed pedal, cart moved forward and voltage dropped to 44. Repeated in reverse with same result. At stand still voltage now showed 46.8. This was all in garage mind you, assume it would have stopped altogether had I tried driving it but can if that will help with diagnosis.

Re: RXV Stopped Working
You have at least 1 bad battery. Voltage is probably dropping below the cutoff

Re: RXV Stopped Working
Probably really stupid question, but what’s best way to ID the bad one(s). They’re all about 2.5 yrs old.

Re: RXV Stopped Working
Battery tester or put a volt meter on each battery and hit the go pedal with it on stands

Re: RXV Stopped Working
I'm sure you checked the water level of the batteries

Re: RXV Stopped Working
Put it up on stands and did a better test. 3 of the batteries registered 12.5V under load but the 4th was 9.5. Checked the fluid and it was just above the plates. Suppose it’s shot and needs to be replaced. Of course it’s the rear one.
Perhaps a stupid question, but is it ok to replace just one or should I change them all out? |

Re: RXV Stopped Working
Probably had the 12 volt accessories running off of just that one. If you can find a decent used one throw it in there. If not I would suggest changing the battery tray out for 6 8 volts. Be close to the same price with much better run time.
