Re: Brand new bad batteries? Really?
So I just pulled them off the Summit II and the initial voltage is as follows...I will of course check them again tomorrow after 12 hours, then drive the cart for a while and see where they are again. But back to to my initial voltage and this is after balancing them as well...
1) 8.82V 2) 8.65V 3) 8.63V 4) 8.74V 5) 8.71V 6) 8.65V Guess what voltage reading belongs to the older batteries... |

Re: Brand new bad batteries? Really?
Okay so this is the voltage after a full charge then 14 hours of battery rest...
1) 8.57V 2) 8.51V 3) 8.60V 4) 8.49V 5) 8.51V 6) 8.62V This is my reading on each just after a 10 minute cruise about 2 miles total.. 1) 8.38V 2) 8.33V 3) 8.43V 4) 8.32V 5) 8.34V 6) 8.49V Thoughts? Normal? Abnormal? Seems like a fast discharge to me personally. |

Re: Brand new bad batteries? Really?
Quick follow up after 15 minutes of battery rest after last drive (above)...total bank charge reading 50.79 Volts. And tested voltage of each finding that voltage has gone up a bit. Lowest discharge was 8.40 Volts and highest 8.53 Volts. This being said I think I may be in the clear...? I will continue to run the batteries through the break in period and see how it goes. If they continue to increase in usage time between charge cycles etc. that's obviously a good thing.
I will continue to follow up with this thread to hopefully put some at ease who may be questioning their own battery status when their isn't any obvious signs of whether your batteries are good or not. It appears for the time being in my case there is no short answer but to put the batteries through their paces with testing over a period of time and usage. So far I have found that the "OLDER" batteries are the ones holding the best charge after usage oddly enough in this scenario. I have started another charge cycle moments ago and will monitor voltage and usage from here. |
