Default G2 loss of power

Recently rebuilt my G2 motor. Thought I made the final adjustments, but I would appear to be incorrect. When riding, it runs good for the first 3-4 mins but losses power after that. Complete loss of power. Thinking it may need the valves re-adjusted with the proper feeler gauge to the .004" factory tolerance.

any help?? would this be my fix?!?

If the valves are not at .004 TDC cold, I would start there then see how it runs.

during the build, we set them at .006" due to not having the correct feeler gauges. i am thinking same as you and starting here to get exact at .004".

I doubt that is your problem on a complete loss of power. But you need to define complete loss of power. To me that means the cart no longer cranks over. Please help with some more info

it starts fine and idles fine. after riding it for 2-3 mins (just driving on the road) it looses rpm's and doesnt seem to want to go anywhere.

the motor was bored and rebuilt by me (i know what im doing to a certain point). torque kit installed. new clutch, fuel filter, belts, plug, carb cleaned and adjusted, etc.

i have done just about everything i can think of, but still have the result of loss of power after riding around for 2-3 mins. it just doesnt want to go anywhere. its almost like the motor has no balls...

Are you sure the carb is being fed with enough gas? Start by cleaning the carb, jets etc for clogs caused by dirt. Your gas is not stale?

What clearance did you use for the piston rings? and how did you bore the cylinder?

If it starts out fine and then goes to hell I would look at the ignition system.... bad coil? just a thought
