carb was cleaned prior to putting motor back in the cart.

i dont think the cylinder bore and piston clearance would be the cause. it starts off fine, but goes to loss of power in a short amount of time.

everything is hooked up electronically, but taking a voltmeter to the electronic components wouldnt be a bad idea...just not sure where to start.

cleaned the carb last night, and installed new air filter. air box is sealed.

this thing is driving me crazy...

When its cold spin the clutch by hand, warm it up until it dies and spin the clutch
to see if it is binding up internaly. did you mix some oil in the cas to break in the new rings?

oiled the rings during assembly...thats all though. i will try the clutch by hand tonight and post.

I have seen problems like this before and the reason I ask is because if the tolerance is to tight, when the motor warms up it expands and closes the gaps and the motor gets tight.

Alright, update...got the valves adjusted to spec. Drilled the main jet out .004", cleaned the carb, installed new coil, fresh gas, new plug, and new drive belt!

Still having the dame problem. Only difference is now I have a RICH golf cart!!! The plug is reading black as used oil. Need some help here guys, camping is 3 weeks away and I still need paint and stainless on this thing.

Anybody help...please?

the jet drilling you did might have done this rich issiue.

Well I know that...I'm talking about doing everything and still have the loss of power.

I'm not worried about the plug...just need help with the power!

The first run weeks ago went fine, no issues except too fast, then added a torque kit and bypassed the governor. After that, I have the loss of power after 2 minutes of riding...WTF??

Need some help here, compression test shows good??
