Default Blue smoke

I got a g9 about 2 weeks ago and i did the normal tuneup stuff after i got it home and when i changed the oil I overfilled it by about 1/2 qt and ran it for a little while around my yard until i noticed the 1 qt only on the oil fill cap. I drained all the oil back out and refilled with 1 qt. Now the cart blows blue smoke when its started up. Does not smoke really bad and only on startup. just wanting to know whether i hurt any thing and will the smoke go away.

Check to see if oil got into the airbox. Sounds like some found its way into the muffler and should burn out. Are you running a NGK-BPR2ES spark plug ? Yamaha's don't anything else...In my experiance.

Did you look to see if oil was in the air filter box like Smallblock described? Blue smoke is usually a sign of running rich. If the paper filter is oiled down, it is like running with the choke partially on and make it draw too much fuel for the amount of air and run rich. I bought an old beater that was already lifted and overfilled myself and kept finding oil in the air box. Dummy me didn't think about the lift causing the dipstick to read lower. Anyway, this forum helped me get past my golf cart ignorance.
