Re: G1 not running right
You can always put a fan on the front to keep just about any engine cool!

Re: G1 not running right
Check carb. there is a small needle valve in the top of the carb. Take it out and clean. It looks like it is just a plug, but there is a very fine hole in the bottom. Use 1 wire from a wire wheel on a grinder. soak in carb clean. This is an air jet that senses air pressure. Most common cause of having to run a partial choke to keep an engine running. found on Yamaha, Club car, and EZ-go carbs. They all have them and will cause this problem.

Re: G1 not running right
I plowed about a foot of snow out of my drive, roads not passable here if they didn't plow unless you have a 4x4. Main roads are ok but mostly white. There was one trail down the road here had to go slow in the truck. There where 3'+ drifts around buildings. That was about 8am.

Re: G1 not running right
So I moved back to the idea of rebuilding the engine in the cart... can anyone point me to a good thread on rebuilding and replacing the seals?

Re: G1 not running right
I'm sure they are here, there is one for the seals. Then you flush the bottom end and if its ok slap a piston and the jug on it. Or get yours bored and buy the right size piston/rings. They run the best with a bore job for sure. Unless you have a '82 G1 they are different.

Re: G1 not running right
Once it gets warmer out I will pull the engine and take it apart to see how the internals are, if there ok I will replace the seals and hope she runs right.
PS. how do I figure out what year the cart is? |
