Re: Hot sheaves ???
Jmz, have you checked the torque cable/strap lately? This wouldn't stop the motor from hitting the rev limiter, but at this point...

Re: Hot sheaves ???
The only thing I did different is weld the motor mounts.

Re: Hot sheaves ???
It might be worth it to go back to flexible motor mounts at this rate.

Re: Hot sheaves ???
I have driven it about 5 miles give or take , The belt flipped inside out I must have the motor in there a little crooked I would agree now that I need the factory rubber mounts in there .
I really think I need a big block |

Re: Hot sheaves ???
I had the same issue with one of my G16's. The driven clutch would get so hot it you could not touch it. I installed a torque kit on it about 2months ago and it had work great up till now. I checked my belt and replaced it with a used one that I had, still had the same problem. I installed a new HD belt and still had the same problem. I removed the rear clutch and can not find anything wrong with it. I installed the factory clutch and now it works fine and does not get hot. I still haven't figured out what was causing it to get hot but my best guess is a weak springs allowing the belt to slip????????????

Re: Hot sheaves ???
Where can I get good motor mounts? I don`t want the cheap ones that people refer to.

Re: Hot sheaves ??? UPDATE
It was misalignment I bought new and used motor mounts and spent a lot of hours cutting and grinding to get the engine to line up. I think it has something to do with that extra strong spring in my secondary clutch
