Swing-away Spare Tire Carrier
I've had this idea bouncing around in my head for as long as I've owned the cart. I finally decided to try building one and see what happens. It isn't finished, but it is functional and mostly complete.
There are a few changes I'd like to make. The tire mount itself was not nearly as good of an idea as I had envisioned. I think I'll just make another one out of 1" x 3/16" flat and weld a used front hub to it. (Anybody got one?) Whaddaya think? Total awsomeness? Waste of a perfectly good used tire? Questions? Answers? Snide remarks? |

Re: Swing-away Spare Tire Carrier
They're magnets. When I worked at the transloading terminal, I had a soft enclosure on it all the time. Slapping magnets all over the place helped to keep the winter wind out. On the bed, there are pegboard hooks. I had a large Crescent hammer and 24" pipewrench hanging there for ease of access. This left bed space open for all the different fittings I had to lug around. Essness- I've posted pics before, but all of them were with the enclosure on. Gornoman- It will be lifted soon. The BBB front axle is about 4" higher than the stock front weldment. I need to buy some more electronic stuff so I can install it. Then I'll lift the rear to match. |

Got to love them Crescent hammers & 24" pipe wrenches!
