We ride our cart alot and i would say i only have to repray it every few months just touch ups which takes abotu 10 secs and 10 mins of drying.

Actually, there is some stuff in a can that is specifically for spray dying/painting upholstery and carpet. I used some on the seats of an old car and had a bit left so I sprayed some of the sun faded carpet. It looks natural, holds up real well and makes the seats look new. I don't remember the name of the brand, but I know there are several brands of it. And you can go to youtube to see how it is applied.
