Default How to keep my 2000 ds runinig for more than 5 min.

Cart starts right up all the time and runs great for about 5 min then slows to a stop. after a few min, it will run again and again quit.

Take a look at the thread titled "96 gas Club Car run intermittently" about a week ago (on page 2). lots of ideas and "possible fixes" here.

Sure sounds like a fuel starvation problem loosen the gas cap and try it that will tell if you need to clean the vent my best guess is it runs until the backpressure builds and then bazinga no fuel cart dies , then wait a few and the pressure lets off and you have gas again , either that or you could have a float bowl full of ethanol gunk.

I have two carts same year. one has no problem. took vent from good cart and still had problem. also took off carb and cleaned was not dirty, that I could see. switched out fuel pump with good cart and installed new gas lines.

Is there still fuel in the filter when this happens? I'm wondering if it is a spark issue. Ignition coils and ignitors are notorious for running until warm and then failing. You should verify if it is a fuel or spark issue before swapping parts.

Yes, I tried the gas cap idea. No I did not test the spark when it happens. I will take my socket wrench with me tomorrow.

Yes, when it stops, there is fuel in the filter. Joe
