No. The solenoid shown is not polarity sensitive. The red (+) wires can be on the right or left post so long as the banded end of the diode is also attached to the same post as the red wires.

Yea, mine is wired the same as gofast's. But, I do not have a resistor attached. Keep blowing these micro-switches.

Re: 2002 txt 36 volt series cart keeps blowing micro switch
It is the diode (between the 2 small posts) that can cause a problem with blown ms.
You can run without it to test but, every controller cart should have a resistor (at the big posts) and a diode (at the small posts) on it In summary a bad diode could cause the problem. Remove it for a test go. If the problem persists you have a short someplace else. Is this a sudden problem brought on by an upgrade or repair? |

Re: 2002 txt 36 volt series cart keeps blowing micro switch
OK, I just ordered a 220 Ohm resistor. I think I'll order a new diode too. May take a couple days and I'll let you know the results.
I just bought this cart as "not running" so I'm not sure the history of it. Just trying to get it running. In the process, I noticed the solenoid wasn't clicking when the pedal was pushed. I opened the pedal box and found a fried switch. I replaced it and the new one fried immediately when I tested it by pressing the pedal. Thanks for the help! |

Back track this solenoid activation circuit in red and blue. Your short is in this circuit.

Re: 2002 txt 36 volt series cart keeps blowing micro switch
Got a new diode and added a resistor. Replaced the micro-switch, and......
When the pedal is pushed, the switch didn't blow!. The solenoid clicked, but nothing happened. No movement. On to the next problem.... |
