Developed a new sickness
A few weeks ago I bought a 98 DS electric cart. Been having fun building it but really wanted a gas cart. Last night a buddy called and told me he found the cart I was looking for. It's a 95 DS gas.... Well, sort of. It was, now it doesn't have a body, top, or seats and I couldn't turn the motor over by hand. So I bought it anyway. Yup, I officially have a developed a new sickness to go along with my boat, motorcycle and anything else with a motor problem.... What do ya'll think? How should I build it? I'm thinking a stock DS body, nice wheels (12-14"), not sure about lift yet. Anything I should look for in particular when I begin to tear down the motor? Any suggestions welcome! Thanks!

Re: Developed a new sickness
lets decide on a lift for now, and that will determine what motor you can use......
after the lift..... wheels an tires.......then pick a motor......this will give you time to do your homework, so youn choose the right set up for you....... hope this helps..... just something to toss around..... |

Re: Developed a new sickness
Thanks for the information. KillerCC, I'll check them out. ProjectClubCar, (&others) this cart is going to be used almost every weekend from April through September at lake Gaston mainly to travel to other neighborhoods mostly on paved or gravel roads. My planned mods include custom paint on a new stock body, head and tail lights, windshield, radio, rear seat, and newer style roof and seats. I was thinking on something like a Jakes spindle lift and 23" tires on 12 or 14" wheels. I just want a good looking cart to haul people and coolers to and fro. Since I'm basically starting with a bare frame and motor of unknown condition, I am open to suggestions on how to build "the perfect cart". What are everyone's recommendations?
