Default Trouble. No electricity to starter.

Well I did it. I sold my CC DS elect and bought a gasser from a buddy of mine. It is a 2008 model. The serial number is JZ0822. It appears to be a XTR850. Only has 83.4 hrs on it. Here's my problem. When the pedel is stepped on there is not power to the starter. The lights, fuel gauge work so I know there is power to the key. and there is power to the two studs on the top of the solenoid. But when the pedal is pressed....nothing. Any ideas on what I need to check. I did check the two little micro switches or limit switches and they have continuity. Any ideas?

Did I mention the battery is shot? Yes the battery is no good, but I couldn't even get the starter to bump with the charger hooked up to it in the "start" mode. The battery is only showing 11.6 volts. That probably not even enough to make the starter click I guess.

11.6 should be enough to make the solenoid engage at least. have you tried to jump the solenoid by touching the two posts together?
