Question Bad solenoid 1995 Club Car

I just bought a '95 Club Car Carryall II and I think the solenoid is bad. I found a way to test it on the net but I think those instructions are wrong. The engine is a Kawasaki w/engine code FE-290D E-S05. The solenoid says SBC-4201C and 12v 6Amp.

1. Does anyone know how to test to see if the solenoid is bad?

2. I've been to two different auto parts stores and no one can seem to find a solenoid that has the voltage and amps rating. eBay has the following one, but not sure it's the right one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Club-Car-12-...item2336860819

Can anybody help?

Welcome to BGW fishman!
First off... what are your symptoms?

Club Car solenoids are "Continuous Duty" and automotive solenoids are "Intermittent Duty"!

Here's my concern with the Ebay one you posted... yep that's the right one, BUT... there's only one left!
Some electrical parts for carts are known to be faulty when they're brand new!
If, by chance... you buy the last one, and it's faulty, your SOL!
you might get your money back in a month or two, but your still out a solenoid!
Spend the extra 6 bucks and get one from Cart Parts Plus! (A longtime BGW sponsor)
My bet is... they have more then just 1 in stock!

Thanks Lockman. Ordered and done. Odd though - didn't get an order #. Will have to wait and see if it ships.
