Default RXV Voltage Reducer Suggestions

I have a 09' RXV that I would like to add LED headlights, USB ports, and in the future a stereo. I want it to be turned on with the key switch vs an extra toggle switch. I have read many horror stories about ruining the controller. My question is what reducer do you recommend (besides the OEM)and how do you connect it safetly.

Just get a 12 Volt battery and install on the left side, plenty of room. a decent deep cycle will last a long time between charges and you will not drain your main pack. Thats what I did after I smoked a cheap 20 Amp Ebay reducer running only headlights and tail lights.

Costs a little more, but how "cheap" is cheap when it dies?

Can you hook that reducer up to the solenoid or key switch on an rxv without frying the controller? Diagram would help!

That diagram is for TXT carts. Does the same apply for RXV due to the AC drive system? I know just the motor is AC and the controller converts DC to AC. Has any one here installed aftermarket reducer and connected it to the on/off switch?
