2003 ds iq
A friend of mine called this evening, his cart would not run. He had left it out in the rain for a few days. It would click and try to go but not move more than inch.
Thanks to all the information I have read and learned on this site, my first thought was bad controller. I picked the cart up and brought it home. Sure enough the controller was bad. I had a spare, put it on and everything works. His brakes are dragging the cart is hard to push even in tow. I am thinking this has put an extra load on the controller and motor and this burned the controller. I plan to re work the brakes and replace the battery cables with 4 ga. I don't see how the cart just setting out in the rain could cause the controller to fail. It was not driven in the water, the cover is still over the controller. Any thoughts on this? |

Re: 2003 ds iq
The question has been ask before how much cable it takes to up grade battery cables.
This cart I worked on I up graded his cables to 4ga welding cable. I bought a 25 ft box of cable for 35.00, the copper ends were 37.00. I used 14 feet of the 25 ft to make all the cables motor controller battery and all. Total cost of cable used was about 22.00 if I am guessing right. Also the sliders on his brakes were sticking, I cleaned everything and lubed the sliders. |
