1972 CC Caroche

Picked up a 1972 CC Caroche to play with about a month ago.
Never had one of these before now that were on the beach it seems like the thing to have.

Saw it sitting outside of this guys house just down the road and then one day he posted it for sale and no one bought it for $700 then the price just kept dropping and I ended up picking it up for too much, $400.

Someone replaced the master cylinder with what looks like a Toyota Master cylinder that didn't work anyway when I got it, only brakes it had was the parking brake, the hydraulics were stuck to the floor.
It had 4 6V batteries and 1 12V, 2 of the 6's were DOA but it had enough umph to limp me home a few blocks.

Currently I have replaced everything electrical on it.
Picked up FSIP Controller and Solenoid from Scotty (Pkg #454 500/400).
Got some cables from Lowes.
Picked up some 8V Deka batteries from a local shop down the street.
Got a steal on a 48V DPI charger from Craigslist.
PB6 0-5 controller from eBay (had to take it apart and reverse the swing so it could hook up in the same spot as the existing 6 micro switches and use the same linkage).
Changed the Toyota master cylinder out with a Clark Forklift Master Cylinder which was a perfect fit.
Changed out the rear wheel cylinders with a pair of Triumph Spitfire 1976-1980 cylinders, perfect fit.
Ran all new brake lines.
Changed the front ball joints on the steering with Tie Rod End Club Car Replcement OEM #7539 and #7540, these are a little large size wise but fit the rod and they fit in the sleeve fine, only one I wasnt able to replace was the one at the passenger tire from the steering box because it was close to the tire already and the larger size would hit the tire, lucky for me the one at the steering box was in good condition so I flipped the rod over and then replaced the one at the steering box with a new one.
Have new rear axle bearings that need to go in, the existing ones are starting to squeak a little, probably do new bushings and rubber here shortly as well.
Mounted the Controller on a modified EZGO OEM Controller Heat Sink.
Using the stock Westinghouse 388P353 motor, thinking about getting it rewound (it's doing 20mph at 48V right now).

The list goes on, probably cheaper in the long run to buy a finished cart but what's the fun in that and they don't have the style if you call it that of this thing.

Got sick of the squeak from that drivers rear bearing so I spent a couple hours out there pulling the axels and replacing those bearings.
Had to use the little bearing puller and some redneck engineering to get those bearings off and on that axel without the press and puller.
All of the big tools are still in the storage unit but I was smart enough to put the box right at the door so I can still get to most of the stuff I need for stuff like this.

Not sure what I had that socket for where I milled out the 1" drive but it worked pretty slick for a slide hammer on the shaft.

Have to swing over to the auto parts store tomorrow to grab another snap ring, somehow the drivers side was pretty stuck and when I started pulling it out after compressing it, it let go into 2 pieces on me.
