Replacement for bottom rear flip seat
The wood is rotten around screw holes on rear flip seat bottom. Been looking through the sponsor links but cannot find only the rear bottom. Is only option cutting new wood or possibly cleaning out rot and using wood filler or a 2 part epoxy in the rotten areas? Honestly I would rather just buy a new bottom.
thanks |

Re: Replacement for bottom rear flip seat
You can get 1/2 sheets of plywood at Lowe's or Homedepot. Use your old bottom as a template for outside, blind nut holes and vent holes. If you don't have an upholstery stapler, you could get someone to staple for you. I prefer stainless staples but a lot of people don't have them if they are doing interiors. Blind nuts also available at Lowe's and HD.

Re: Replacement for bottom rear flip seat
you could buy plywood, jigsaw, staple gun and t-nuts for half the price of a replacement seat
home depot or lowes: ask for t-nuts |

Re: Replacement for bottom rear flip seat
I had this problem and did as mentioned above, used the old rotted board as template, cut up a piece of plywood, bought a yard-ish of marine vinyl for $12 and some stainless steel screws. Had the cushion upside down several times and with the screws alone have not had any problems. All I'm out is the $17 for the vinyl and screws. If it goes bad in a few years, do it again. I had no luck looking for a rear replacement seat and came up with this. I used a normal staple gun to attach the vinyl.
