In my experience they lose more than that. Start batteries are very different than deep cycle batteries.

Personally I wouldn't waste the money trying them. They will certainly die an early death because the battery technology in those is totally unsuited to installation in a golf cart. Although its anyone's guess as to how quickly they will fail. |

I am using some 12v C&D Technologies 140Ah deep cycle AGM batteries made for battery backup in telecom applications. Have only been using them for a year in my Marathon, but they are working great. Range is ~10-12 miles per charge- discharged to 50% SOC. Not the same batteries as yours, but another data point for 12v batteries.
The telecom backup batteries can be had for cheap as they are commonly required to proactively replace them after 1-3 yrs. |
