Re: Are golf cart lug nuts hard to keep tight?
Huh. Even if a golf course changed tires several times a year, you'd think all studs would show equal "abuse".
Weird. |

Re: Are golf cart lug nuts hard to keep tight?
Just had two tires replaced on the rear of my 97 CC DS. Drove it two days and noticed wheel noise when my wife was with me. Pulled off the road and found a loose lug nut banging around inside the wheel cover. Luckily, I had an adjustable crescent wrench with me and was able to tighten it up until I got home and was able to tighten all of them with a proper four way. And to think that I was afraid they might over torque them with an impact wrench. Never had any problems with loose lug nuts on it previously.

Re: Are golf cart lug nuts hard to keep tight?
I'm embarrassed to admit that after pulling the wheels on and off numerous times while trying to get the auto-adjusters to work, I drove away with one wheel only hand tight. I had two passengers and never felt a thing, until I had lost all four lug nuts.
It was dark, and I could only find one lug nut, so I had my friends run alongside me, holding the driver's side up, to keep from further screwing up my studs, while I limped home. The next day, I found two more lug nuts, and had a spare. Never had a problem, so they can take some abuse. |

Yep, good friends. One was with me when I flipped my buggy. His knee is what broke the steering column, and he still rides with me.

I don't carry a lug wrench with me.

Re: Are golf cart lug nuts hard to keep tight?
I guess the point I was trying to make is that even having driven with three of us for 3 - 5 miles, with all four nuts loose, they still tighten and stay tight.
The OP's problem is a mystery. |
