Default 2008 MPT 1000 reverse beeper

My cart has quit running. I've had the reverse beeper disconnected for a long time, so I hooked it back up to get the codes. It beeps in reverse even with the key off. Is this normal? Been so long I can't remember if it beeps with the key off.

Thanks,
Duster

My 1998 series TXT series with an AXE4855 beeps in reverse even with key off, and that's normal for it. Can't speak for your setup, but it's a safety feature that keeps you from turning on the key and punchin' it without much warning.

Question about diagnostics mode. Here's the instructions I have read:

To enter PDS diagnostics mode turn the key switch off, move the run/tow switch to run, move the direction switch from neutral to reverse 5 times. Your cart will beep to confirm you are in diagnostics mode

According to the above, you end up in reverse. But in reverse, the beeper is constantly sounding (since you're in reverse). Should I click it one more time back to neutral?

Thanks,
Duster

Yes, it means 5 cycles from N to R ending up in N
