Re: need help! dcs clicks but wont move
Quote:
Then when pedal is pushed, it should drop to Zero. Positive battery pack voltage is connected to one side of the solenoid coil via the switches and wires highlighted in red on attached schematic. When the pedal switch closes, it tells the controller to apply Negative battery pack voltage to the other side of the solenoid coil via Pin-7, highlighted in blue. Before the pedal switch closes, you should measure full pack voltage on both solenoid coil terminals and at Pin-7, unless the solenoid coil or controller is bad. |

Re: need help! dcs clicks but wont move
I hate jumper wires, but this is an instance when one would verify the solenoid is working.
Connect a jumper from the main negative terminal on the battery pack and touch the small solenoid terminal with the blue wire on it. If it clicks, either the blue wire is bad, or the controller. |

Re: need help! dcs clicks but wont move
I tried a jumper from the negative on the battery pack to the solenoid where the blue wire is attached and it didn't do anything. No clicking at all when I shot ground to it. Does that mean my solenoid is bad?

Re: need help! dcs clicks but wont move
If there is a diode connected across the small terminals, remove it and try again.
If there is pack voltage on the small terminal with the red wires attached and you ground the other terminal (blue wire attached) and the solenoid doesn't click, it is bad. |

Re: need help! dcs clicks but wont move
ok so i went back and removed the blue wire and tried again and the solenoid does in fact click on and off with the jumper wire from the pack ground. the blue wire seems to be bad. when i put the blue wire back on it clicks the solenoid but the terminal measures around 17v and doesnt change when i press the pedal.
give it to me straight doc.....its the controller isnt it? :( |

Re: need help! dcs clicks but wont move
Your negative side of the solenoid activation is intermittent. You may have a failure in the control or just a dirty or poor connection in the molex connector.
You may be able to run with the jumper in place of the controller supplied negative for a while. |

But even when I jump the solenoid it still doesn't move. It just clicks the solenoid.
