400 amp controller Ok with stock motor?
I am loving this site. So I've been talking with some folks about updgrading to a 400 am controller(specifically package 808 from Scotty B), but I read somewhere that an upgrade will eventually burn out my stock motor. Any experiences?
I have a 2003 EZGO PDS |

400 amps is perfect for this cart. We have not seen any indication that 400 amps speeds the demise of the stock motor, 500 amps yeah but even then it only allows 500 amps when you press the peddle to the floor so whose at fault the controller or the driver? Pkg#808 = 400 amp Alltrax and 20 amp HD solenoid will give about 40% more torque and 24 mph on the flats with stock motor and tires. |

Thanks Scotty B! I have 22" tires and a lift kit. Still OK? If so, I'll be giving you a call this week!
