Default Melted Terminal.. Repairable

Something must have been loose. Water level is fine. Lost power and number 1 battery was smoking. Melted the positive post. Battery still shows good. Looking at the pics below is this repairable by re taping the flat surface? There is a very very very small pin hole where the lead meets the plastic on top. What can be used to reseal that? Also the last pic is piece of lead about the size of a nickle i found sitting on top the plates inside the battery.

As for the hole, clean around it, put a piece of tape (any kind) over the hole and put black RTV sealer over and around where you put the tape.

Do a search on here.....somebody posted a detailed "how to" on this. If I remember correctly, they recommended using a stud in the tapped hole, with a jam nut on top of it.....
