A 200A will suffice with a 400A controller, but a 400A solenoid is needed for 500A controllers and above. Also, the 48V 400A solenoid that Scotty sells, works at 36V, so it won't have to be replaced if and when you up the battery pack voltage. Mathematically, 23" tires should give you a bit over 30MPH, but tall tires take more torque to turn, so you probably won't reach it at 36V. |

Re: Speed options
Back in the old Internet days, I setup an account Yurtle Turtle, not to be confused with Dr. Seuss' Yertle The Turtle.
According to Urban Dictionary, "The demon spawn of hell. Spewd from the deepest darkest pits of Satan's nightmares. Fueled by the sorrow of the dead and dying as well as the pain and suffering of all who know his name. This Apocolypse takes form in the shape of the one thing no one expects... a pet turtle. Oh look at the cute little turtle. CHOMP Yurtle did him in." |

Re: Speed options
Check out PlumQuick website for motor rebuild which will get your stock motor purring with more torque and speed. Several options from the 'Bandit' to the 'Beast'. These guys are great to work with. Search this site for motor rebuilds and PlumQuick to see all your options. Enjoy the project and since 'Big' is what you are looking for don't skimp and go do go "BIG".
