LOL well not necessarily....you may be right, meaning the LEVER on the front of the seat.....where as he said the F&R switch is on the front of the seat, which is where it is on a DCS.....AND has a LEVER on the front.....look at the picture above. many times people get the terminology mixed up and causes confusion, Its why when people coming looking for answers, its best to post GOOD pictures of what you are trying to describe.

so until the OP comes back in so we know EXACTLY what he has, its hard to properly help.

The MFG code will not get you info on the EZGO site, you have to put in the SER.# and the EZGO site will tell you the year,/maybe the MFG code L1597 means it is a 97, the OP said no F/R on the dash, so that means it;s a DCS or SERIES.

I am missing something. Couldn't it be a series cart.

OK, This is what I have. Make:Shuttle Type:Electric 36 V
Model:Electric Shuttle 2+2 Year: 1997
Got that info from the EZ-GO site using the serial number instead of the Mfg. Code.
I also found a manual that appears to be real EX=GO product.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-2006-Ez...9c84dd&vxp=mtr
I ordered one and hope it's real. Only $9.99 and free shipping. When I get it, I'll let everyone know.

Does your cart look like this under the seat? Disregard the small battery and finned amp just behind the charge port.

If there is a blue small wire with a ring terminal that is part of the stock wiring harness, it probably is a DCS and blue is the - side of the solenoid activation circuit. The series carts had red and black wires on the solenoid activation circuit. That being said, there should be a run tow toggle somewhere near the controller. And if it was not flipped to Tow before messing with wires, that could be bad.
