I have a 90 ezgo marathon electric 36volt cart. when I press the accelerator pedal to the floor the power drops out. it is fine unless pressed all the way down. can press it probably little more than 3/4 the way. what could cause this and how is it fixed.

Re: ezgo loosing power when pedal pressed to the floor
I'm not really sure what type of throttles EZGOs have, but it sounds throttle related... Like a dead spot in the floored position.

Re: ezgo loosing power when pedal pressed to the floor
You probably have a Curtis 1204 controller with 0-5K Potentiometer for a throttle.
If so, they shut down if the Ohms goes too high. Could be a bad pot, or out of adjustment. Measure the Ohms between the wires that attach to Pins 2 & 3. Should be about Zero with pedal up and about 5,000 Ohms with pedal down. (In reverse, it should be about 2,500 Ohms with pedal down unless half speed reverse has been disconnected) |
