Default Wheels not spinning

Old ez go marathon the motor works and the axle works but the wheels wont spin. Could this be the problem? (See pic) im not sure if the threading is supposed to go all the way down the hole or if its just supposed to be at the end like that

They are called splines and they should extend all the way through the hole.

If the axle is turning and the brake drum isn't, either the hub splines or the axle splines are stripped, or both axle and hub are stripped.

The splines in the hub pictured are stripped.

The axle is spinning. Just ordered a new set of hubs. Also the axle splines look like they dont have much time left in them, would I need to replace the whole axle or is there something else I can do to fix this

How would I go about changing the axle and where do you get it so cheap?

look in the axle tube after taking the drum off and you'll see a spring clip remove it and the axle should slide out
I'd also replace the axle bearing, preventive maintenance does wonders

Prestige golf carts in temecula Ca. is where I bought his, that price was for the passenger side drivers side might be a bit more as the axle is a little longer.
The new axle was a tighter fit and I had to tap it in with a mallet
edit to add
the bearing was about another $20.00

They told me at the shop that fast starts and shifting between forward and reverse while the cart is still rolling is the biggest reason for the splines to wear

Too bad they didn't tell you that for about the same price as another weak stock drum you could have gone online and bought a HD replacement hub & drum > go here http://cartsunlimited.net/Ezgo_Pinch_Hubs.html

Is it Justme? or is that white rocks stuck in the brake adjustment hole.
That won't fix the splines though.

Look a little closer at the right edge of the adjustment hole.
The silver crescent visible would be the inside surface of rearmost part of the drum, so the white gravel is on the ground and the drum is elevated enough for light to shine on the ground below it.
