To be perfectly honest, as a gadget freak, after the effort of buying, installing, and building a power supply for my onboard ammeter, I'll bet it only is turned on 5% of the time. I have an Alltrax Exray, that is switched to monitor all eight of my battery voltages, pack voltage, speed, and motor temp, but I also keep that power down most of the time. I drive more at night than in the daytime, and don't want any lights at all on my dash or overhead console. I even hate my stereo light. I even have my laptop lights covered with electrical tape.

While I'd love real-time data, I think a data-logging device would get more use from me, and only while tweaking settings. Once set, I prolly would never pay attention to an onboard real-time display.

Sort of how Apple started, LOL!
