2001 yamaha g16 electric won't run

Bought a 01 g16 with no batteries. Put new batteries in it and with the key on, depress pedal and get a faint reverse buzzer in forward and nothing else. With the key off, put it in reverse and get a reverse buzzer. No idea what's going on. Any help would be appreciated.

Get a wiring diagram and check it over. Since it had no batteries, there is a very good chance that it also had other problems. You will need to go over the entire cart. Motor, controller, wiring, solenoid, switches, etc.

I think I'm really just looking for someone to tell me it's not a $900 controller problem.

Since you bought it not working, anything could be wrong from a simple fuse to a motor or controller failure. You will have to troubleshoot the thing. First try to get the solenoid to click when you go from tow to run. Next get it to click when you push the pedal.

Ok, but this is one that doesn't have the run/tow. Is there a way to trouble shoot a controller? Having a hard time finding info on a 2001 ge16 that is 36 volt.

Thanks for all the help. Found that the negative wire from the charger to the batteries was broken. Replaced it and it runs great. Again, thanks.
