2007 G29 Voltage Drop Problem
Hi all!
Relatively new golf carter and I have a question. Have a 2007 G29 lifted. Recently, I've noticed a change in the voltage. The batteries don't seem to be holding a charge and there's a particularly sharp voltage drop. While driving around tonight (did about 9 or so miles), the cart dropped from 52V (fully charged) to 42V under load. This was with the led headlights running. It seems to drop quickly from 46V to 42V (the last three miles). I let the cart sit and rest for about an hour and the voltage (not under load) jumped back up to 49.8V from 48.2V (when I had stopped originally after getting home). Is it time for some new batteries or might this be another problem? Thanks for any help you can give. The cart has Trojan T-1275 batteries. The voltage for each, after the run, was 12.36, 12.36, 12.34, and 12.12. Thanks again! Bill |

Aftermarket. They've been on for awhile; it does it even with the lights off.
The voltage just dips quickly, but recovers once the load is removed. |

They're also LED, BTW. The same ones you typically see on Drives....

How old are the batteries? Do the same test on each individual battery under load and report back.

Re: 2007 G29 Voltage Drop Problem
Depending on the age of the batteries they could be getting old and showing age.Lifted and probably has larger tires will also put more strain on batteries. You can charge them and have them load tested to give you a better idea on there condition.Have you considered replacing those 12v with 8V batteries when it's time ?.My next cart will have them instead of 12V but that's just me.
* 6-8V's should give a lot better range than 4-12V at least that's what I keep reading on here. * Last edited by Yamahaman; 11-25-2015 at 05:13 PM.. Reason: add text |
