Default beginners battery charging question

I've got a real basic about charging 36 v Sepex EZgo cart. only first battery reads 5.2v, all rest are .9- 2.3 so too low for cart charger to work (figured that much from reading posts)
filled all cells w/ distilled water-most were low.

my question is do I charge w/ 12v car charger and do 2 batteries at a time?

Do I leave caps on cells or remove while charging?

Do I have to unhook cables or leave all attached?

and finally do I charge in Tow or Run mode?

Thanks in advance- sooo new to golf carts but think I'm gonna like it.

Switch in Tow.
No need to remove cables.
Leave caps on.
Only fill water just 1/4 inch above battery plates, never into tube at top, or all way to top.
Charge each individually on charger 6v setting, or 2-at-a-time on charger 12v setting.

thanks, that helps- I already filled too much (just under the neck) I'll use spec gravity cell tester to draw a little off if needed

Problem is, volume of fluid will increase as charge increases, causing fluid loss and corrosion mess. I would keep the removed fluid in a plastic bottle to use later for topoffs. The battery acid should be "for life", only water lost and added.
