Default (Answered) 2014 RXV replacing rear springs question?

Ordered up some HD springs for my new to me 2014 rxv and the mounts for my leaf springs are confusing me a little. First I'm not sure how to removed the axle perch from my old leaf springs. Also I may have the wrong HD spring kit. Can anyone comment on how to remove the axle perch.

Thanks J

Bang it off. It’s not welded. Must have rusted on there.

Default 2014 RXV replacing rear springs question?

Mine popped right off. It’s more like a stud than a bolt. The only thing that holds it all together is that Stud / Pin and the u-bolts.

Tap on it with a hammer.

Also, FYI, I used a pair of Jack Stands and a floor jack to keep everything close to where it needed to be. That way the bolts slid out of the sleeves, and the new springs slid right in. I think I only had to tweek the pivot brackets a bit.

The corrosion is the only thing holding that together. Tap it off with a hammer.

I am doing this to my 15' RXV soon. Do the HD springs raise the back any? I just put 20" wheels on mine and if I turn sharp on a curb or hit a decent size bump the rear tires rub on something. wondered if this would correct that to?

Raise?

Not noticeably.

Bumps

Should help some as they will prevent the cart fr squatting as much.

Clearence the rear bumper, the rounded part behind the tire where it curves around to meet the frame. There are other threads covering this easy fix. I have to do this to nearly every Rxv that gets aftermarket wheels.
