Default Lift kit on my 1987 Gas Club Car

Holy cow! , I worked 6 hours on that cart last night and didnt even get done with the back end. I removed the body of the 1987 car and figured I would change it out since the 1987 body had some broked areas and I am also trying to install a Spindal Lift Kit on this car. The hardest problem is those darn leaf spring screws are frozen solid and wont come off. I finally figured I would unscrew the back of the leaf spring and just muscle the spring around the wheel hub to come up over the axle after removing the brake cables. I wish I would have thought of that before I stripped and grinded the one screw on the front of the leaf spring. And I still cant get the dang screw off. I guess I will have to drill it out. FUN FUN FUN !. Geeeeezzzzzzzz cant wait to get to the front of the car to install the spindals. Hopefully I will be done with the back side this afternoon. I will get pics up after I am all done. I is gonna be pretty cool looking with the custom wheels I ordered for it.

I as well as probably everyone with an older cart has had this same problem. the quickest and easiest way i found to fix this problem is use a reciprocating saw and cut the bolt out between leaf spring shackle and urathane bushing. cut both sides, leaf springs fall out of shackle, then knock out remaining bolt from shackle. hope this helps.

you were not kidding at all there Dirty. the front went smooth, just a matter of bolting and unbolting and adjusting the toe on the wheels. this whole liftkit and body change over turned to be about an 18 hour job between the frozen solid screws and the finding and replacing other screws. that happened cause I got 3 of my kids involved in the project. oooooooo....but it sure looks nice. Now I need to figure out how to make a half type windshield for it since I am not placing the roof back on. Any ideas on that? I heard maybe make the frame out of pvc or is there someone out there who makes a nice chrome one for less then $50.....hehehehehe yea right?
