Hot wire. Is this normal???
I have an 04 CC DS 48v. Just took it on a 20 minute ride over mostly flat surfaces to some slight inclines. When I got back home I noticed that 1 (-) battery wire was not burn you hot, but was the only wire/battery lug that I was able to feel any heat from. I checked, and all of my terminal nuts are good and tight. Is this normal?
Thanks, Jr |

Re: Hot wire. Is this normal???
You may have a bad cable or dirty/loose connection. Clean and tighten the connection and check it again. Might even try swapping that cable with another of the same size and see if it gets warm in the new location. If so, replace the cable. Don't forget to flip the tow/run switch before you start work on the pack.

Re: Hot wire. Is this normal???
If it's isolated to one cable and all the connections are tight, it's probably a bad cable.

Re: Hot wire. Is this normal???
I'm going to go ahead and order a set of #2 gauge replacement cables and replace them all.

Re: Hot wire. Is this normal???
A failed crimp can be hard to detect except by feeling the heat generated at the lug.
Good choice on doing them all in 2AWG. |

Re: Hot wire. Is this normal???
I ordered a brand new set of 2AWG wires that should be here on Tuesday. Hoping this will solve my heating problem and give the cart a little more life going up hills.
