Thoughts on 150mah batteries?
Not sure if this is a silly question or not, but I'll ask anyway. I recently had to purchase new batteries for both carts, and the dealer I bought the Precedent from felt bad about it and made me a great deal on some new Crowns. Unfortunately when I picked them up, they're only the 150s (versus the 165s that came out of the Precedent and the 165 Trojans in the DS). For what I paid, I wasn't going to turn them down. I do have a second DS parts cart that is getting reassembled and sold, and it has no batteries, just cores.
The DS and Precedent are neighborhood cruisers, flat ground, though I do belt out high 20mph speeds on the Precedent when I can. I know that the lower mah will reduce my range, which isn't really an issue, as I don't usually go over about 5 miles on a jaunt. Plans do call for Alltrax controllers for both carts and a higher speed motor in the DS. Can I expect these batteries to still hold up longevity wise, if not on a day to day drive? If I need to, I can put the new 150s in the seller DS and buy a new set of 165s for the Precedent, but it's not as economical to do that. Thoughts? |

Re: Thoughts on 150mah batteries?
For a stock cart on flat ground, perfectly fine.
A little less run time, but probably not enough for most people to notice. For a modded cart, need to have at least 170 Ah IMO. Anything less will leave the motor lacking for power and will have a drastically shorter run time. Also just to be clear these cart batteries are rated in “AH” Amp Hours. Not “mah” which are milli-amp hours, 1 Milli amp = 1thousandth of an amp. (0.001 amp) Tiny battery |

Whoops, thanks for the correction. Well, this cart is definitely not stock, and eventually I want to upgrade it a bit more. :/

Re: Thoughts on 150mah batteries?
Then better batteries should be first on the list.
What charger do you have? You should also make sure your charger will be able to properly charge the batteries if you choose to go with something with a higher capacity. Anything in the 160 to 180AH range will be fine to charge with the stock PD charger. If you get into batteries with 190+ Ah capacity you should consider a Summit II 1050w model to provide higher charge rate for the batteries. |

Re: Thoughts on 150mah batteries?
I have a Summit 2 with the correct profile for the 150s.
