installed freedom chip / question about beeping
hey guys, I installed the Freedom chip today and the cart doesn't seem much quicker, but I don't have a lot of room for testing and I know my Batts aren't the best so I am not too worried about it right now.
I did notice something. I get the 4 beeps in diagnostic mode that tells me it knows it has the freedom chip, but I have Beeps when driving. The best I can tell it only beeps twice. I can pull away from a dead stop and as it builds speed, I get a beep beep, but it doesn't some to affect the operation and I think it only does it that once. Is that normal? I looked in the owners manual and service manual and that is all about diagnostic beeps. Also, the owners manual states the freedom option is not available on the Fleet carts? I am assuming mine is a fleet cart. Does that mean the chip won't work even if I have it installed? Thanks guys |

Re: installed freedom chip / question about beeping
There should be a second set of "beeps" You need to listen carefully. Are your batteries fully charged?

Re: installed freedom chip / question about beeping
Sounds like you may be getting the beginnings of a Low Voltage warning, which in a 2 - 1 code.

Re: installed freedom chip / question about beeping
That might be it. This is when I am driving. I thought all those codes were only when you go into diagnostic mode but just re read and noticed there are under load codes as well. Makes sense. I am a total newbie.
I did just go take the chip out and on the same stretch there is no beep as I pull away. put the freedom back and and it beeps. I need to test some more later. I have it charging right now. Thanks |

Re: installed freedom chip / question about beeping
Ok, I checked some more. I charged the Batts for almost 2 hours. Took it down the road with my GPS and it went between 17-18mph. Ran it a few times with no beeps.
Took out chip and ran it and barely got 13mph on same road. SO I know the chip made a difference. Ran it a few times and I got the beep-beep and Beep. So it looks like low volatge after all. I ran it another time or two and sometimes it just does the 2 Beep and sometimes it does the 2 beeps and then 1. Maybe depending on how far on the pedal I am. Or I am just crazy anyway, I know the Batts are weak so after new cables soon, it will be Batts next month some time. Thanks again Mike |

Re: installed freedom chip / question about beeping
Batteries look to be #1 on your lst! Double check your chargers output voltage while plugged in just for giggles. Make sure your getting all the juice you should be...

Re: installed freedom chip / question about beeping
Are you talking about reading the pack? If so I have checked it many times and it reads about 44.2V when they are charging. I haven't checked into whether that is good or not.
Yeah I hear ya on tha batts, but I figured that and don't have a problem with it for what I paid for the cart. I just want to get them and have it all good to go before Racing picks up hard again in April. |

Re: installed freedom chip / question about beeping
That charging voltage looks good. Charger output is not the problem
