Default Refurbish Old Batteries??????

I saw on eBay where a golf cart shop is selling a kit that will supposedly refurb old batteries. They claim it is a dry chemical that you just add distilled water to and follow other instructions to refurb the batteries. Anyone else heard of this? Here is the link:

I went thru looking at the feedback from the Ebay link above expecting to find positive feedback on shipping and some negative feedback on the one's who tried it before submitting their feedback. I've "cut and pasted" some of it below (good and bad), seems to be about 50-50.

After reading on this forum about the Epsom Salt, I tried it in a dying RV/Marine battery a few weeks ago. The liquid was below the level of the top of the lead. I used the ES according to the directions offered here, charged the battery really good and cranked the vehicle. Worked great....for a few days. Battery is back as dead as it was before attempting this.

If you have a battery that is not going to be a loss to you if it doesn't work, then go for it. If you have a descent battery that is a risk, then take care of the battery in the proper manner and let it die a dignified death. I found this experiment to be a total waste. Now, that is my experience with this. Take is as you wish.

When my Batteries start to go in 5 years I might try it myself "just to see". I won't expect it to work and hopefully I won't need it too, but if they are dying why not try it ?

And then go to town and buy some !

I have read this more than once, But if any of these things work 100%, than why would the battery builders still be in business? It seems like they would want to buy you old ones for more than what they give you.
