The 8" wheel won't fit on a Jakes lift because of the aluminum tie rod end, spacer that is needed to keep the tie rods close to level (so no bump steer). You can see it in my pictures right next to the front hub.

ck, I was gona go with 22" but the guys that coned me into joining this addiction, suggested I do 23" instead. I'm glad i listened to them, cause I have just a little more top end. Didn't think it was important till I got to driving it.

Maybe I don't understand tires.... If I get a 22x11x8 or a 22x11x10 wouldn't my ground clearance be the same? I assumed that getting a 10" wheel would essentially just make the sidewalls of the tire a litle smaller. Understand?

You're exactly right, but size will vary some. If you're planning to lift it then get 10" rims with an offset, if you're keeping what you now have 8" are fine, maybe even better with a little more flex in the sidewall.

How much of an offset do I need? I saw the 3:4 and the 2:5, but if I buy the premounted tires it just has them listed as "offset" Not even sure what I'd be getting.

my bad, thinking you were going with 23". there is another advantage to 10" or larger rims and that is you can run disc brakes with these and as far as i know you can't with the 8's. when i got my rims and tires i had to ask what the offset was. which offset really is up to you, how far out of the wheelwell do you want it , what width tire you are gonna run.

Cart, I beefed up the floor/fire wall area, it was pushed over toward the front wheels a bit when I got it, so I thought it was a weak area.
And it looked like the shock tower needed more support, sticking up in the air like that, so I braced it back to the main tubes. Now that I know a little more about these things, it probably wasn't necessary. OH WELL!! Race car days are hard to forget sometimes.
And, yes, when it was stock i was running it in the forest, the front hoop was wipping all over the place. I thought "much of this and it gona break off" probably driving to fast for the terrain, just me... so I put in another support to run another bolt. Better now.
