EZGO motor issues
I have a older model ezgo electric cart that has recently gotten new batteries and ran fine for about a week, but now when the pedal is depressed the motor tries to engage and immediatly disengages. It started in forward first but now it is in both directions. I am a newb to the electric and was hoping someone could give some incite to this problem. I can hear the solenoid click when I go from forward to reverse but still no motor output.

Re: EZGO motor issues
Check battery connections, you may have something as simple as a loose connection. If you have a year if cart, that can help

Re: EZGO motor issues
you need a meter to start to check some stuff. I'd start with battery pack voltage, jump the solenoid, the check motor continuity.

Re: EZGO motor issues
I will try jumping the solenoid this evening, and I will also check continuity on the motor after checking voltage on battery pack

Re: EZGO motor issues
You should have continuity between A1 and A2 and between S1 and S2 but not between any A and S (or F) Terminal

Re: EZGO motor issues
Ok I tested the voltage and I have 38.2vdc and then I jumpered out the solenoid and the motor will run fine in forward and reverse. Do I need to change the solenoid or is something else causing this problem that I need to check first?

Re: EZGO motor issues
Next step is to know if the solenoid is getting 36 volts, you either hear a click, or you put your meter on the 2 small posts. If its clicking, you have a bad solenoid, if you have 36 volts going to the solenoid and no click, you have a bad solenoid, if you don't have 36 volts going to the solenoid, then you have a control of the solenoid issue.

Re: EZGO motor issues
Do I do this with or without the solenoid still jumped out? When should I hear the click, when I switch from forward to reverse or when I depress the pedal?
