I am going to replace crank seals. Have no clue, do i need a clutch puller, and can i make one faster than ordering one. also should i replace anything else while i have it torn apart? compression is good 120lbs. I would like to add a rear seat for 2 kids can i do this w/out changing suspension? thanx for help

Re: 1983 g1
i have no idea on the crank seals and the other stuff. BUT with the rear seat question you CAN do it but it will probly be riding on the bottom of the shocks/springs and wont be a very good ride. I would suggest a rear shock upgrade at least.

Re: 1983 g1
You can go to my web page and take a look of how I replaced my seals, but I dont have any pics on the flywheel side because my seal was still good in that side.

Calvin--We live in the DC suburbs (Annandale). Also have a place in Carroll Co. in SW Va. Thats where the cart is. Someday-maybe in the not too distant future--we will move down there. The neighborhood up here is going to krap.

Re: 1983 g1
checked out your pics. it is very interesting to see how what looks like a heap of junk can come together to look so cool. you did a great job and are motivating me! I purchased my cart last year in similar condition. the guy said it was bogging due to bad gas and i believed him. After talking to some guys on bgw it seems to be crank seals. Tried pulling muffler,compression,120lbs check carb and fuel pump ok. So, i will start with the seals, should i address anything else while motor is out? I wil then move on to strip/paint frame /body and do some customizing
