Default Installed Alltrax DCX500PDS... No Difference?

I just finished installing a DCX500PDS and 4ga wires in an 06 Lifted PDS. Had planned on installing the 400amp unit but was offered a discount on a bench-tested unit. First test drive did not impress me. It doesn't feel as though I picked up any speed and certainly didn't help on inclines. Throttle response felt the same as well with no noticeable improvement on starts. What am I missing? Still running stock motor and I did not upgrade the solenoid. I installed very carefully yet I also ended up with a small wire originating from the end of the motor that had been connected via a 3-pin connector to the stock Curtis controller that didn't have a home on the Alltrax unit. Any thoughts? thanks in advance

Welcome to bgw .......... you must use that controller with an upgraded soelnoid and the battery cables from the controller & solenoid must be upgraded as well .......... how is the controller programmed? If it is set to 75% you may not feel any difference

No idea as to how it's programmed Scotty. Any suggestions as to how to address that and what to do about the solenoid (what to buy)? Seems speed is just as expensive with carts as it is on the water or on two wheels. Thanks for the reply and the welcome.

Electric car speed costs more than tits. You need a 200 - 400 continuos amp solenoid. Amps depends upon the usage demands. Don't forget the properly rated resistor and diode. I'm surprised they didn't tell you that where you bought the controller? Software is available from alltrax to program the controller. The speed sensor wires you mentioned earlier do not need to be connected, just tape them up out of the way.

So the controller has been programmed and the solenoid has been upgraded. Getting 20mph on flat. Still slow off the start and uphill pull is weak. Any other thoughts? Thanks.

500 amps should be barking the tires What size tires are you turning and what is the age and condition of the battery pack? How do you know?

And what cables did you upgrade? What solenoid ?

What throttle response or pattern did you choose? What percentage of output did you set?

Here's what I know:
Tires are 23"
Batteries are Trojan and are all labeled B10-BSI. No idea how old or what to look for?
Upgraded 4ga to all batteries and to from solenoid and b/t solenoid and controller.
HD Solenoid
Throttle up rate = 8
Throttle down rate = 6
Max Output Current = 95%
Top SPeed = 100%
Turbo - yes
Throttle response - Inductive
