Re: ezgo 2 stroke rpm ?
the weight will to some extent, your clutches might be a problem too,Any noises(rattleing, clanging)?Try the muffler,as Dave suggested, then look at your clutches.Has this been an ongoing worsening-problem,or a sudden change?

Re: ezgo 2 stroke rpm ?
no its seems to run good just has always been slow since we rebuilt it... dont need the choke to start it( most of the time ), there is a little rattle in the back (clutch ?) maybe , if i put it up on the jacks and run it, i suppose there no load so that would not be a true reading of the rpm? i try the muffler trick. if i have to get into to clean it out no problem, i cut it open and clean it out and welder back up....or is it time for a big block? lots money there new axles clutches motor , the wife wont like that...lol

Re: ezgo 2 stroke rpm ?
The extra weight won't really affect the speed but it will affect the acceleration. Let's hope you have a blocked muffler. If not then we can continue to offer help until you are happy.

Re: ezgo 2 stroke rpm ?
ok it was a little longer than a hour sorry , took the belt off than ran the motor and it only got to 1500 or 1600 rpm , so i looked at the muffler, sounds ok than i notice tiny sparks coming from two of the four main cables to the starter / generator ,shorting out on the engine block almost all the way through the insulation.... so i temporarily taped them up , ran the engine again wow instant improvement up to 2700 rpm ... and the voltage gauge jump from 14 volts to 16 volts, put belt back on ran it up down the driveway a few times, much better acceleration and maybe a little faster.. only to find one more problem ,my brakes dont work really well ,almost took my pick up out ...live and learn ...thanks for all your help on this......brad
