Default TXT Freedom Tray Removal

Amy I missing something? It looks as if the battery tray foir a E-Z_Go TXT Freedom is completely bolt in , BUT I do not see how to get the front vertical bolts out without removing the body shell. Am I missing something, or were the designers nuts?

mine had 2 big torx bolts going down into the frame. then, the battery tray was connected to the rear body's angle iron. 2 on each side. hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply- The two front bolts you refer to are directly under the front of the body shell- The panel behind your legs. It looks like I would have to remove the shell to get them out. Was that different on yours?

I know it's a little late to post on this, but better late than never. I just got done replacing my battery rack in my 2000 TXT. I found the same problem, but found an easier solution than lifting the body up to access the torx screws. I drilled out the rivets holding the body flange to the floor/frame and pushed the plastic body back towards the battery bank under the seat. This little extra room (derived from flexing the body panel "in") allowed enough space for me to get the torx bit in the screw head. One important note to remember is to place a piece of cardboard next to the body and maybe a small piece of sheetmetal over that before you wiggle the torx bit onto the bolt/screw, to protect the paint. After installation of the new rack just install new rivets thru the body panel and frame and you're done. That might not be the recommended way to do it, but it worked for me.
